Sometimes the notice above may be displayed in place of a message. Your calls and personal messages are protected with WhatsApp end-to-end encryption. This way, they remain only between you and the person you are conversing with. No one else can read, listen to, or share the content of these conversations, not even WhatsApp. There are several reasons why a message may be replaced by the notice "Waiting for message. This action may take a few moments.":
The message could not be delivered.
You or the other person recently reinstalled WhatsApp.
You changed phones and installed WhatsApp on a new device using the same phone number.
You can follow some steps to try to resolve the issue.
Open WhatsApp
Open the app and ask the other person to access WhatsApp at the same time as you.
Check your internet connection
Make sure your internet connection is stable. Try switching your connection between Wi‑Fi and mobile data. If there is no Wi‑Fi network available or the mobile data network is unstable, find a place where your connection works better. Learn how to troubleshoot connection issues on WhatsApp in this article.
Update WhatsApp
Make sure you and the person you are chatting with have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device. Learn how to update WhatsApp in this article.
Ask the person to send the message again
If the message was not delivered, ask the other person to send the message again.
Use your primary device
Access WhatsApp on your primary Android or iOS device. The primary device is the phone used to register your WhatsApp account.
Note: for other devices to remain connected to your account, you must access WhatsApp on your primary phone every 14 days.
Disconnect the device and reconnect it
Follow the steps shown in this article to disconnect your connected device and reconnect it.
As stated in the contract: THE CONTRACTING PARTY is AWARE and AGREES that the use of the WhatsApp integration service, in its WEB version, is a completely EXPERIMENTAL and UNOFFICIAL service, and its use by the CONTRACTING PARTY is conditioned on acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of the WhatsApp service. They also agree that, because it is an UNOFFICIAL integration, it is subject to number blocks and bans, especially due to misuse of sending messages using the WhatsApp integration. We are NOT responsible for the blocking and/or banning of WhatsApp numbers. The use of this UNOFFICIAL integration is the sole responsibility of the CONTRACTING PARTY. It is the CONTRACTING PARTY's responsibility to comply with all WhatsApp service policies. We are NOT responsible for connection outages, delivery and receipt of messages and/or files since the integration, being unofficial, has frequent instabilities. We are NOT responsible if the integration service is out of service for one or more hours or even days, as the WhatsApp service itself may undergo updates that will directly impact the operation of this integration because it is unofficial.
To avoid possible problems, we strongly recommend using the Official WhatsApp API.
