# Security

The **Two-Factor Login** adds an extra layer of security to the account. When enabled, in addition to email and password, you will be asked for a **code generated by an authenticator app** at login.

**How to enable or disable:**

1. Go to **User Preferences**.
2. Go to **Security**.
3. Find the option **Two-factor login**.
4. Click to **enable or disable** as needed.

When **enabling**, you will need to set up an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy) to generate the access codes.

> **Important:** The **app passwords** are usually only available when the **two-step verification is already enabled**.
