# How to remove a number from WhatsApp API (WABA)

### **1️⃣ First: disconnect the number from the provider**

Before removing the number in Meta Business Manager, you **must** disconnect it from the platform where it is configured.\
If you don't do this, Meta will not allow deleting the number from the WABA.

#### Examples of where to disconnect:

* :octopus: **SprintHub** → System Settings → Account Settings → WhatsApp API → Remove integration

> ⚠️ If the number remains registered and active with the provider, you will see an error when trying to delete it in Business Manager.

### **2️⃣ Go to Meta Business Manager**

Log in to **business.facebook.com** using the account that has the WABA.

Path:\
**Business Settings → Accounts → WhatsApp Accounts**

### **3️⃣ Open the WABA account where the number is**

Select the **WhatsApp Account** that is correct.

### **4️⃣ Go to “Phone numbers”**

Access:

➡️ **Phone numbers**

And find the number you want to remove.

### **5️⃣ Select the number and click Remove**

When you click the number, you will see:

🗑️ **Remove / Delete number**\
or\
⚙️ **Manage → Remove number**

Click to confirm.

With the provider already disconnected, Meta allows completing the deletion.

### **6️⃣ Done! The number is released**

Now it can be used with another provider or configured again.
